1940 – 1990s

The Parkes Services Club exists for its members and the wellbeing of the Parkes Community. We have been part of the local community since 1946 and throughout that time we have been connected to supporting schools, charities, emergency and health services, supporting groups and youth programs.

The Club is one of the largest contributors to the Parkes economy employing over 40 locals and supporting local businesses.

The Parkes community is always at the forefront of our business practices. We purchase consumables and raw material products mostly from local businesses and we have maintenance contracts with local providers.

We donate cash and in-kind donations to the local community and sporting groups, the Club provides free meeting and activity spaces for local schools, sporting groups and not-for-profit organisations, more importantly, we offer a safe and friendly environment for members and their guests to simply relax and socialise with friends or enjoy activities such as line dancing, darts and more, improving quality of life for our members: it is well known that humans are social creatures and social interaction is fundamental to mental wellbeing. This is particularly so for the older generation who, no longer being in active employment, can easily become isolated and lonely.
