Chef - Paul Rifkin at Parkes Services Club
I am very excited to be working with the team at Parkes RSL to help them provide a contemporary food offering to the members. This will be a time of change with the focus on fresh produce, key ingredients and a delicious varied menu.
My experience is the consultant chef at chef Paul Rifkin consulting, with a focus on mentoring and training chefs on site and the finetuning catering operation.
I am involved in industry training and development, being a member of chefs’ associations, including the Australia Culinary Federation for 30 years, as well as judge for Queensland Chef of the Year.
With more than 30 years as an Executive Chef and over 40 years in the kitchen, including nearly 17 years at Campbelltown Catholic Club as Executive Chef. I was involved in the design and construction of 8 new kitchens, including a hotel, convention centre, restaurants and events spaces. During this time business quadrupled and culminated in 3,000 dining seats and 13,000 meals a week.
Previously Executive Chef at the Manor House Balmain, Barnaby’s Restaurants, 4.5star Hotels and Sous Chef in the Athletes Olympic Village followed by TAFE teacher at Ryde.
Sous Chef - Connor Murphy
Connor Murphy our Sous Chef is preparing to travel to Korea next month for a once in a lifetime experience. Connor will be gone from the 10th to the 27th of October travelling through Korea and learning how to cook Chinese, Korean and Japanese food. Everyday Connor will be learning and seeing how these different nationalities cook and prepare their food.
He is currently attending Tafe studying a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery. When the opportunity arose, Connor took the opportunity to apply for this amazing trip. Connor is 1 out of 10 lucky people who will be attending this trip.
They will also be visiting different restaurants through the tour and observing cooking techniques, skills and styles. Lucky for us Connor will be keeping a diary so we can find out what he did whilst on his trip.
